Default 6.4 Transmission Service

Approaching the 30k transmission service on my 08. Does anyone know if a flush is necessary or just drop the pan and change the sump filter, the remote filter and add the make up oil? No heavy towing only boat and utility trailer with ranger every now and then....

I have not flushed mine yet. I have had two oil changes to my Torqshift with the filters (Two filters).

Completely Stock.

I had a Detroit Diesel 8V92TA in a KW dump truck in 1980. That sucker would put out 425 hp but would never out pull a CAT.

DaveBen thanks for the quick response. I talked to a tranny service shop yesterday and they recommended only a filter and fluid change. Said the flush is not recommended by them unless there was problems with the tranny. They also commented that a flush should only be done if you intend on dropping the pan and changing filters after the flush which some dealers do not. To remove any contaminants that the flush stirred up like a blender.

That is pretty much what my old dealer told me. Both filters were changed last time and the pan was dropped, but no flush.
