Interesting, to say the least.
thats the theory on my 150
it has a huge lower BIRD/CRITTER catcher about a foot back from the bumper, its designed to draw air through the upper grill opening and out the bottom for better air flow. plus the electric fans hardly ever come on, except in stop go traffic.

The fan comes on all the time on my 08.

I did talk to my buddy and I can see why the cars move so fast and why air control is so important.
