Default Fuel mileage?

New to the forum and looking at buying a 2011 Super Duty. From what I have read, the new motor gets significantly better mileage than the old one.

What are people seeing for highway fuel mileage (unloaded and not pulling anything)?

Default Good MPG

My first 750 miles netted 18.5 MPG. About 1/2 of that time included the Ford programming upgrade to match Chevrolet horsepower.

What type of driving? City/highway mix or mostly one or the other? As with most new engines, your mileage will only improve. Hopefully you'll be getting 20+ before long.

Majority of mileage is short city trips so I am expecting greater mileage as it breaks in and as the mix starts to include longer trips.

Default stock 6.7

I have about 2200 on my 2011 f250 4x 4 with 245s and a 3:31. Highway going over the mountains from the Imperial Valley to San Diego and back I got 19.6. All highway. On a more recent trip from Yuma to IV I got 20.3. Mileage is picking up for me on the road at about 70 mph. Around town has been around 15. I am towing my 32 foot fifth wheel for the first time next week for about a 240 mile roundtrip. I have had the 5er out for a couple of short trial runs and I get to 70 before I know it. Power plus. I am impressed so far. I plan to run the tires off of it as I paid for them and then get some a little larger. This is an impressive and very comfortable riding truck. I traded in a 99 3/4 ton chevy with a 454.

Is your mileage getting better? Hopefully Ford got it right by finally building their own diesel.
