Folks - Help,
My '01 7.3 has been outstanding, just 128K on the clock.
But just yesterday I made a mower gas run, only 3 miles or so. Returning home, the Service Engine light popped on and I lost a lot of power - had to put my foot into it just to stay running and get home.

I know I need to wash my AFE air filter, but that can't be the cause of this rapid change.

Any clues?

Thanks tons.

The Service Engine Light means there is something wrong that the PCM (computer) has picked up. You will have to get it scanned to find the cause (number coded) of that fault. Any good shop can scan your truck for the codes. The fault code should be in the form of - P0123 with different numbers after the 'P'.

Dave :)

I should have replied before when I got this fixed.
The left valve cover has a gasket integral with a wiring harness for the injectors. The harness failed. Not a cheap fix, BTW.

well, compared to a loaf of bread, no..
compared to a full set of injectors, it's minor details..
