I decided to keep the v6 for the summer.i pulled the motor yesterday to replace the crankshaft, rod and main bearings, clean the nylon timing gear teeth out of the pan and oil pickup tube.

Ordered the new crank, timing set and gaskets friday, should be here tomorrow or thursday.hopefully have it back in by sunday.

cost me 200.00 to fix the V6.gonna put some money away for the V8 swap, build my 400, and paint.figure ill enjoy the car for the summer while i gather up all my parts for its makeover.

Looks like a fairly rust free car for a restore. A v-6 should help save a few bucks towards a v-8 in fuel costs. What you doing to the 400. I'm sure it won't be stock.

Oh no the 400 wont be stock.a friend gave me a 400 that was rebuilt, bored .030 over that someone left water in it over the winter, sadly it froze and cracked the block.they then took it apart to let the cylinders rust up.i stripped it down yesterday for the pistons, rods, crank and cam.just need to find a new block to put it all in.
