Any of you west coast guys use John Wood? Saw him the Diesel Power mag a couple times and gave him a call. He personally called me back and answered all my questions. I found him very knowledgeable and helpfull.
I have a torque coverter code and truck stalls in reverse when hot. Look out bank...
Had my truck aligned at the dealership. The rack at my shop is too small:rant Ever since there has been a popping noise under my feet in the left front.(mainly when turning and hitting a bump, like entering the driveway) Carried the truck back and Ford said this was "normal rotation of the tie...
Installed a DP Tuner F6 this week. The chip is great and was very easy to install! I recommend Jody and his product to anyone:sweet Thanks to my wife and Diane for the gift cert for the b-day.
Feeler guages (thin metal strips with graduated measurement). Same thing you would use to adjust valve clearance or check a warped head or block. Keep inserting a larger guage until there is slight drag. No lube required for this type of insertion.:sly
At work (Volvo) we have a spec for the clearance between the clutch plate and the backing plate. If the clutch is worn it slips and heats up and stops holding. Dont know if you could find this spec or if the dealer would know? Typically the customer will complain that the a/c cools for a while...
Thanks BJS. Did you get them directly from superwinch?? How much? I saw the Warns for around $200.
It was $325 my cost for new joints (Moog), bearings, races, seals, and a big ass socket for the retainer nut. Ford wanted to charge $1200 just for the joints and install. Then alignment and...

I was...
Started tearing down the front end today to replace all four ball joints. While I was removing the R/F hub (Auto hubs) and noticed little metal chunks everywhere. Behind the snap ring there was one splined washer, one thrust washer and the bearing retainer wasnt even hand tight.
Moved over to...
Removed oil cooler Sun. Disassembled, replaced O-rings and gaskets. Reassembled yestersday. Flushed the five gallons of coolant. Drove around and no more leaks. :D
Had mine replaced last week. The new one is grey. From what I was told Ford will not just give you another because the have to send one back for warranty claim. My shop foremans CMP went out on his 99 350 and it wouldnt start. Replaced it w/ the grey and never had another problem.
Changed my oil/filter, changed trans filter/pan gasket, flushed trans w/ fully synthetic fluid. All for $80.00. Thought that was pretty good:sweet Did notice oil around filter housing. I think this is from the cooler:dunno
