    Tires on an F450

I'm purchasing an 08 F450 and it has a mixture of Continental HSR's and HDR's on it--3 HSRs on one side and 3 HDRs on the other side. Doesn't make much sense to me. Anyhow, according to Continental, HSR can be on the steering (hence the "S" in HSR) axle or drive axle, but HDR's can only be on...

Wiring Fault on Trailer --no trailer attached

Hey all, I'm getting this warning with a chime on the info center every time I press on the brake pedal. I do not have a trailer attached. Any ideas what is causing this?

    Help! Belching White Smoke

My truck has started bellowing out the white smoke this past week. It is extremely bad when driving up a steep hill from work to home. I've owned diesels for only 5 years, but they've NEVER done this before. My coolant level looks fine. I'm taking it in for the coolant system recall, but should...

HELP! Need wiring info for clearance lights

Hey all, anyone know which wire in the headlight switch pack of wires is for the running lights? I have my new clearance lamps installed, just need to know which wire to tap into. I applied power to the lights to verify they're operational, but now need to wire them permanently. Thanks!

    6.4L Block Heater

Yeah, SkyHawk1 is right. They've all got the element in the block, but no cord. The irony is that the block heater is a $35 option from the factory, yet to install one (the cord) after the fact is about $300 if you go through a dealership.:dizzy I just bought a cord from International for $27...

    6.4L Block Heater

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. And I plan on doing it myself--that's why I left the dealership without letting them do the work they had scheduled. When I made the appointment, I figured it'd be a 30 minute job, but when they told me 2 hours plus a $70 cord, I walked. No...

    6.4L Block Heater

I'm looking to install the block heater on my 6.4. The engine has the element in it, and I see the element right above the starter. The problem is that the dealership wants $70 for the cord, and 2 hours of labor to install the cord because it has to go inside the frame rail. Has anyone bought a...

    2008 6.4 liter mileage update

My truck has 43,000 miles on it and on a recent highway trip, I got 17.4 on the way down and 18.5 on the way up. Kept it at 65 and I don't have a bed cover (yet...just ordered one). City driving gets me 10-12, and towing the 5er gets me about 7.

    Difference between 08 F250 and F350?

It seems like almost all of the Ford brochures list carrying capacities together for the F250 and 350, with the little * that says weights are shown for the 250 and the 350 is within 200 pounds. That tells me that the capacities are almost the same, EXCEPT for the GVWR is less on the 250, which...

    Just bought 08 F250, selling 03 X

Just got back from a one day road trip picking up the truck. Drives very nice, plenty of power. Got 15.1 MPG on the first full tank driving in between 65 and 80 on the interstate. Will post some pics this weekend.

    Difference between 08 F250 and F350?

Call me the idiot in the room, but what is the difference between an 08 F250 and F350 (not sure if the year matters or not)? I've been looking through some tow manuals--to include the Trailer Life 2008 Towing guide and the Ford stuff--and it appears that the only difference is the springs...

    Just bought 08 F250, selling 03 X

Hey all, been away from the site for awhile. I've turned into one of those weenies who is consumed by the job. :dunno Just purchased an 08 F250 Lariat, 6.4 (of course) and all the bells and whistles. It's a used one so has a few miles on it but a lot less price tag, too. Picking it up next...
