Hello gents, been a long time since I've been on here. I'm finally in a position where I can afford a decent rig and wanted to ask a question about the data logging. From what I understand the PSD ecu stores flashes and a Ford dealer would be able to see you've had the ecu tuned, raised fuel pressure, so on and so forth. Even if reflashed to stock. My question is, say I bought a rig from Carmax, under their warranty system would they be able to see anything like that? I also wonder if I could play it off and say I bought it like that. Chances are the reflash has date / time info so maybe not.

Thank you for your time. Specifically I was looking at an '08-10 SRW F350 and adding a Spartan Phalanx.

I'm not sure about the trucks, but I know Ford can tell if the 2011+ Mustangs have been tuned. I know they can do it on the Focus ST's as well. Lots of people were getting their warranties voided that way. I'm not exactly sure how they can tell. I think it had something to do with key cycles versus engine starts.

I don't know if Carmax has the software. Depending on the warranty issue they might send it to a Ford dealer. I bought my 01 Cobra from a Honda dealer and there were a couple things we agreed on getting fixed as part of the deal. It ended up getting taken to a Ford dealer to get fixed.

My thought is if you're going to take the chance then be prepared to pay. I haven't paid for an extended warranty on any of the Mustangs because I knew I was going to void the warranty pretty quick. But my truck is 100% stock and is going to stay that way.

I see where someone has screwed with our once great forum again. Looks like they have killed it this time for sure, no new post.
