That is the issue I'm getting 15 hwy and 12 street.

Well FWIW.. You might try a aftermarket Air Filter ? (a fer cheap(er) Mod ?)

I went with an aFe (dry) filter.. noticed a bit better response to throttle inputs and get 14~17 'roundtown.. 17~20 on the Big Roads. 11~14 towing our 30' 5th wheel. Don't have any MPG's to compare against.. cuz I did the aFe filter R&R when almost new.. after just looking at what FORD had in there.

The old 6.0 still running great 16 hwy 13 city, 18K camper in tow 14 hwy.
My sister has a new 2015 truck and they only get 14 hwy and 13 city, not towing. I don't under stand why. Other then they don't know how to drive it...LOL new camper.JPG
Don't know if this works??

The poor mileage is probably due the all of the smog stuff that the new truck has that you don't. Like the Exhaust filters, etc...

I was just reading about Obama's latest mileage proposals. He is calling for automakers to have a mileage of cars, that is at least 54.5 mpg by something like 2054.

I would think it's more about how it was broken in. I have a 2015 and get around 13-14 in town. On the highway I've seen as high as 22, but usually stays around 19-20. Pulling around 5k it drops to 13-14. Although I hit 15 on one stretch towing a box trailer to Washington.

For the first 500 miles I was hard on it. It saw boost a lot in that time. Well, it still does to be honest.

Is that for a specific car or across the board? I always thought it was across the board. That's why we have the little cars like the Fiesta that get 40mpg. So we can keep the fun cars like the Mustangs and our trucks.

Based on all this information I’m reading, you should get yourself a good PM change your filters air, oil, including the fuel filters both frame and engine mounted, change the oil. I’ve noticed a good 3mpg increase after fuel filter/ oil change service. I currently run 14-16mpg city high combined and 11-13mpg towing also make sure you check your tire pressure.

Gale Banks offers an external box that modifies a few signals that would not be detected.
BUT, the fuel mileage you stated is not out of the norm for the 6.7.
I got about 16 in my 2016 hwy, 12 when towing.
My 21 got 14 on it's first trip home from the dealer 300 miles away.
