Today I got the exhaust turbine pieces blasted and painted.I used 1500 deg paint so if it burns off I know Ive had bigger issues! Tomorrow morning I'll bake them and try to get this guy assembled.
I didnt blast the bearing houseing because there are so many small iol passages and it would be hard to insure that I got all the media out when I was done. Instead I gave it an overnight soak in a bucket of hydroflouric acid,followed by a rinse in a soda solution.That got 90% of the rust so its good. Cant see it when its on the motor anyway!
