Purchased a 2011 King Ranch new in 2011. Was the best truck ever till it hit 100K. I ordered a 2017 a couple months ago.
Took my family to Ocracoke Island a couple weeks ago. The furthest place from civilization one can go and not need a passport ( 3 hour ferry ride to get to a diesel mechanic) . Took truck on beach and died. tried turning it back over and it was banging loudly.
$3,000 of towing later to my dealer hoping I could get some assistance from Ford being a loyal customer. Dealer has done everything I believe they could on my behalf.
After this happening I have googled Ford 6.7 valves and seen this is a known issue for early 6.7's. I am three weeks away from the new truck arriving. I have to say I've never been more dissatisfied with lack of assistance from any company. It will cost 10k min. for a short block, heads, oil pump and gaskets.
Looks like Ford has two winners 6.0L backed by the 6.7.
I take extremely good care of my truck, there is zero possibility this was caused by neglect.

Welcome to SDD.com, sure hate to hear of your luck with your 2011, I am still driving my 6.0 with 116050 miles on it. Have you talked to someone at Ford or just your local dealer? What's the miles on the truck now?

Mileage is 101333.9 I have called the customer support line for Ford owners and they have issued a case number. They are basically putting it back on the dealer for any resources he has available to him to help me. None of these resources they speak of is a new engine.
70K for a truck that gets 100000 miles. I wish there was another person I could actually call and tell this story too. The thousand miles wouldn't be there if they would have delivered the new truck on the time frame they promised

I just looked on my title and there were 600 miles when the dealer delivered the vehicle to me.

I would make that known to them. That's just unreal for a diesel engine that you bought and was hoping to get 3 or 400 thousand miles out of. Remember that sales pitch the sales person gave about buying the diesel. LOL
