Very worried... Engine is making what sounds like a helicopter. From what I have read, means my engine is pretty messed up. Anybody had expeirence with this? Only had the truck two weeks. Any way the dealership could have rigged it up to run good for a little while then crap out on me?

Not that i can see. And it is running like a champ. All the people on other forums who had this problem, it was a no start the next time they tried to start it. So, hopefully its nothing. Gunna go back to the dealer tomorrow have them take a look

Sorry to hear you're having problems after you just bought it and I said don't worry about these rigs in your other post. So, no other symptoms? No hard start, running rough until warm or smoking? Must be something hitting something. Could be turbo, flex plate?? Let us know what you find out.

Will do. And, no. 3 second starts everytime. Never have I witnessed smoke coming out of the exhaust, even when I romp it. Never really runs rough either. Weird.

Did you check your cooling fan? Maybe what you're hearing is the fan turning. Could be a bad fan clutch.

So the fan should not be moving in park is what youre saying? And is it bad on the engine if i do not get it fixed immediately?

If it has a fan clutch the fan shouldn't be turning unless the engine is as a certain temp. I don't think it'll hurt anything in the long run. The engine might take longer to warm up with the fan running full time.

Hey RowdyNoe, I'm not a mechanic by trade, but I've done a lot of auto work, inc. on my 2004 F250 PSD.
So, not wanting to degrade anybody's advice, but in my experiences, a fan with a clutch will still turn when engine is running.
As I have been told, the fan clutch on these trucks is an electric clutch that, at temp, "locks up" to provide added air when needed.
Now, with that being said, if your clutch is bad, then when the engine needs added cooling, like towing up a hill, hot air temps, etc, then your clutch may not "lock up" as it should.
You didn't say, but is this "helicopter" sound all the time, or just on occasion? Is the sound steady or a "woosh-woosh" sound?
