    To clarify about the leak, it appears to be seepage that is balling up on the bottom of the transmission. It's not actually dripping.

    So I switched to the revised belt, and replaced both pulleys. Zero change. It's coming from the general area of the fan and am starting to wonder if this could possibly be my water pump or something else associated. You don't by chance have good how-to on replacing the water pump, do you?

    Or, now that I'm further thinking about it, are you saying the rear part of the shroud that surrounds the fan ought to be cut? If it is this, then it sounds like it is possible to work that belt around the fan regardless but it just takes a little longer. Am I wrong in this assumption?

    ??? The upper shroud is held down by four bolts. I've been able to get it off completely in about 10 minutes without cutting it previously. Are you saying I need to cut the lower shroud? Somehow that doesn't sound right.
