I had aluminized Exhaust on my 90 GM and a SS muffler, well I was always scared to hit this shinny muffler. I made a set of 3" 316SS exhaust on my 98 6.5L and it was there for life. The new owner just teared it down and put a new 2.75IN stadard in. Thats my experience. I hope I can make a good decision when I come to install a new system in mine. It will be an open pipe to the back.
