12v key-on source

is there a suitable 12v "key-on" source for accessories other than using the
in-cab fuse panel? with gauges, chip and switches I don't want to run them all to the fuse panel.

I tapped a 10 Ga. wire of the "Key On" side off the starter soliniod, ran it under the firewall lip to the driver side, mounted a 6 fuse block, with breakers (to suit) instead of fuses.

ive never seen any heavy gauge options (like you could get at any
good car audio shop)

personally Id just use the large fuse/distribution blocks that you
can get from any car auto supplier (cartoys/bestbuy/crutchfield etc)
you can even run multiple fuse blocks (if one isnt large enough).

the one you found only uses 6 or 8 ga. wire...you said you wanted more
power than something like that would provide !

in my photo you can see a 4 circuit fused distribution block...using
4ga wire thats been run from the battery...the distribution block
is between the 2 amps w/ the RED cables run in and out of it.

this block is good for 30+ amps

well it depends on how much load youre looking to support....
if its just gauges an 8ga wire should be fine...

i cant necessarily speak to the switch issue...dont know
what the inteneded load will be.

as for the COOLER that you originally said you wanted to run, you
really need to look @ the max draw and base your wiring & fusing on
that.

consult this LINK to learn more about the current ratings for
each wire ga (awg) as well as determing the RESISTANCE (current
drop) based on the length of the wire run.

2 guages (boost and pyro), 6 position chip led, 2 led lights and an arming switch for the methanol pump. The wires for all of these are between 16 ga and 22 ga.

Yep, thats it. For what you want to hook-up and power I think that'd work for ya. I miss spoke tho.. I used >8< guage wire to power it up.
