I'm sure someone has come across this at some point.

With the humidity here in TX, I will intermittently have musty, stagnant air come out of the vents. Doesn't matter if i I have it on panel, a/c, or max a/c. Is there any kind of spray i can spray in the intake vent to clear this up and prevent it from happening?

YES! i forget the name that i used, but there are a few different brands out there. i got mine at the local ford dealer. its not just a spray though, its like one of those house bug bombs, you clicked the trigger down until it locks and leave the truck running with the RECIRCULATION on, and it unloads the entire can.

another thing that contributes to smell is dirt/crap/mildewy fuzz that collects in the HVAC system...sometimes the only way to get rid of the smell is to take everything apart and clean it (not fun!)

HVAC is short for Heating,Ventilating and Air Conditioning.

Your ac evaporator adjacent to the fan blower in the engine compartment probably needs a coil cleaning. I do the tack every other year which keep the coils clear of mold, dirt, leaves, etc.

I use Kool-it Evaporator & heater core foam cleaner which can be obtained locally or thru internet order at Midway Auto Supply

The evaporator is located on the right side up against firewall inside a somewhat large black plastic housing, you'll see the ac lines that run from the compressor to the housing.

The condensor is located in front of the intercooler.

Lemme dig up some photos this evening on what to remove to get the foam cleaner to the evaporator.

make sure your drain hole for the HVAC housing is not plugged....if the water that comes off the evap. core has nowhere to go, it will sit in there and go stagnant, just like mine did. the drain hole is a little hard to find, but it is there, sorry i don`t have any pics....hope this helps some

In this photo you'll see the blower except from the backside. It takes 3 screws to remove the blower from the housing.

Once the blower is out the AC evaporator is to the right inside at an angle if I recall,so you'll have to snake the hose from the kool-it to up over the evaporator to coat it good.

I was considering drilling a couple holes over the top of the evaporator to send the foam thru then placing rubber plugs in them afterwards.:)

You're gonna make me tear into the truck to make a better way to service the evaporator now :D

The drain opening is behind the black plastic inner wheel liner.
