    I must admit, it's sometimes fun to watch that MPG display change wildly. In the 98 chrysler i had, it would be no effort at all to see 99 mpg on there.

    Why do you want a trip computer anyway? They're horribly inaccurate and don't tell me anything I couldn't figure out on my own anyway. For keeping track of distance and direction, you'd be money ahead to buy a navi unit. But that's just me and my 92 Custom(lower than the XL) with no frills...

    5R100 into 7.3 truck?

    Even IF you manage to get it to bolt to the motor, getting a computer to control it is a whole nother gigantic and expensive problem. Your money would be better spent building up that 4R100. BTW, the Torqshift is called the 5r110, not 5r100

    Question Pro's and Con's of the F-550

    A 2007 MY that's been sitting there for over a year worries me. The turbo veins do not take well to sitting for any extended period of time.

    +1 on giving her hell to clean out the turbo. The puff of black smoke when you get on it is perfectly 100% normal behavior for a diesel. Some people actually work hard to make their trucks do that.
