The only time I got more than a few drops of water was the first time @ 6K miles, not sure where the original owner was filling up or how long it sat on the lot but the pint (or so) that comes out was less than 1/4 water.

I wouldn't touch it till you get a PRE Turbo EGT guage.
Then watch for 1200 degrees. 12hundred for a couple (?) of minutes is maybe ok, any higher or longer and it's off to the shop.

Run over to your local International Truck dealer and pick up part #1847170C92 (this is the OEM filter) should be about $40.00, may be a little more than NAPA pos but less than Ford will charge you.
