i converted mine just almost 2 years ago. it was the only way i was gonna get me a 4wd. i've got a dually, and didn't wanta buy a single wheel 4wd and then put a dually conversion on it. i found a 1987 ford f-350 that was well rotted, picked it up for $500. that gave me almost everything needed...
there was one in a local truck trader on the front cover. a 97 with only 22,000 miles. they wanted $27,000 for it. if i were rich i would have bought it and put it in storage for when my truck that i have now quits moving.
i'd guess that the idm is toasted. when mine went it would run, but had a bad shake at idle after being warmed up, and it was also down on power. i didn't have gauges at the time so i don't know about boost pressure's.
generally all fuel is the same, try to buy it where the truckers are. the more fuel a station pumps the fresher(sp) it is, and the less chance of water.
the big ones are probably rotella 15-40(what i use) and delo 500, i'm sure there's a couple of others. as far as synthetic's probably...
i have pm'd him, he sent me back a very short message, stating that ford had updated the seal and to just try putting a new one back in. he was having some computer problems so we really didn't get a chance to talk.
it's a local track built in the middle of a farm. back in the 50's when it was origanally(sp) built it was 1/4 mile, as the cars got faster, the shutdown lanes were getting to be to short so they dropped it to 1/8th. the track went dormant until 2000 when it got reopened, over the years part of...
i just got done getting it back together. filled her up, crossed my fingers and fired that mother up. no leaks(yippie) i checked the fluid topped it off and let it idle while i picked up the tools. checked for leaks again nothing(good), drove it home from the shop and everything seemed to be...
i kinda doubt that it was caused by any worn parts. tranny's only a 1 1/2 years old, built by faubion motorsports. i filled it with fluid and it still worked. i've got the tranny out and i'm replacing the seal, we'll see what happens. thanks for the tips guy's
i went to the track today to do a little racing. on my last run i did a very hard boosted launch breaking all four corners loose:thumbs and hopping alot harder than i like:eek: . anyway when i parked at the end of the run i was pouring tranny fluid, i had it towed home and i dropped the tranny...
i had a bit of trouble with it flatlining at 3500psi, come to find out the check valves in the lines going to the heads were restricting flow. i removed them and all seems to be good. i went to the track yesterday. 1/10th mile(don't ask) i averaged 8.3@68mph, my best was 8.04@???. the speed...
i'll take back my comment on where they get there oil,i don't know where i came up with that one as you are correct on the location. what the hell was i thinkin. it was late and i was tired that's my excuse:dunno :)
however the filter in a hydraulic system is usually on th return side, not...
