7.3 Ltr '01 Engine hissing @ 1500rpm

The EBPV is the engine bypass valve ?? Is it automatically switch positions, what is its purpose? Is it normal. By the way thanks so much for helping out and responding. I appreciate it.

It sounds like the engine compartment, I would guess around the Turbo? Not certain.

7.3 Ltr '01 Engine hissing @ 1500rpm

I have an F 250 '01 with 283,000 mi. the engine hisses at only 1500 rpm while the engine is cold. It seems to go away after it warms up... what could be the cause? Vaccum leak maybe. I am new to diesels so it could be normal. Any input is good.
