    Who is getting snow?

As long as the snow doesn't hurt pheasant hunting season, I will be happy. :D

    Who is getting snow?

Just several inches of rain here. Our friends/relatives to the west of us (in North Dakota) were not so fortunate. I know Bismarck had a couple inches but sounded like it was going to melt. Minot and Dickonson got nailed pretty hard. Bummer! The trees are barely changing colors here, I don't...

sonnax accumulator valve and tricumulator spring vs. Bullydog

I would choose the 70HP mode too, for daily driving. Have you towed with the chip installed, yet? I think I would probably go back to stock mode for any towing. I don't know that I'd run in 50HP mode. And if I needed the extra power, I'm not sure how I'd choose between 100 or 140. What's the...

sonnax accumulator valve and tricumulator spring vs. Bullydog

Are most of these chips made by the same manufacturer? The multi-position dial looks similar. I'm debating on 4-position vs. 6-position. I'm not sure that I need 6 positions. The Valet mode doesn't interest me, but the high-idle is very attractive...as are the stock, tow, and daily driving...

sonnax accumulator valve and tricumulator spring vs. Bullydog

I just installed a Factory Tech Valve Body in my '00 Excursion and would recommend researching it if you are in the market for shift improvements: http://www.factorytechtransmissions.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2 The description of the product is an interesting read at the...

    What got you started??

I got into diesels when I needed a tow vehicle for my off-road truck. I started with a '97 F-250 HD. It rode like the frame was bolted to the axles, but the power and fuel economy were a welcome change from the V8 gassers I had in other trucks. I couldn't believe that while using cruise control...

What speed are you towing at?

Just started towing a friend's boat for him (26-1/2' Crownline). Probably close to 7,000 lbs with it loaded with gas, coolers, trailer, etc. I would agree that 65-70 MPH is the sweet spot and overdrive holds on slight hills. It can go 70+ no problem, too. Very smooth ride and easy to handle...

    Lawn Fertilizer

I've found that Scotts has a nice website that gives you recommendations on which fertilizers (their brand only, of course) to use. You can enter your zip code, grass type, and they will create a lawn maintenance schedule, if you will, for your yard. I received an e-mail from them a couple...

    Excursion A/C Modification

Snowman, Where in Minnesota are you located? I have seen the A/C insulation mod posted before...I've had the insulation for a couple years just sitting in my garage. It will be nice to get an article online. I'm primarily interested in getting the A/C temp to drop during idle speeds...

    Landyot's radius rods......where?

Regarding drivability issues...the single biggest improvement I experienced after installing the Landyot Radius Rods was how my X handled over bumps, particularly at highway speeds. It was not uncommon to be "white knuckling" the steering wheel while cruising at highway speeds because I knew...

    Excursions, why buy anything else?

My first diesel truck was a '97 F250. From that point on I was hoping for a diesel-powered SUV and when the Excursion came out in 2000, I traded in the F250. 141,000 miles and still going. :) Our German Shepherd loves it, too. :thumbs
