    rising temp

My experience is same. 2005 F350 SD 6.0L CC 4x4 DRW 4:10 Auto (completely stock), heated up first trip out with heavy load. Running around town, everything was fine. Dealer replaced coolant cap, instrument panel, turbo, EGR, etc. and finally both head gaskets. Ultimately, the truck was out...

    sorry I bought My 6.0h

Same thing: F350 SD 4x4 CC DRW 6.0L 6spd. I pulled 14,000 lbs up a 9% grade in 105 degree weather, with no overheating or temperature issues.

    sorry I bought My 6.0h

My too was a lemon (same exact truck as yours). I only made 1300 miles to first problem and 5200 miles till it was DOA. My replacement truck rocks.

Never had a FORD before...until now

Truck competition among manufactures is fierce. If Ford, GM, or Dodge could produce more horse power and torque by “chipping” and make the product last 100,000 miles, surely they would. If you want to go fast...buy a race car If you want to tow...buy a truck If you want to tow a heavy...

    sorry I bought My 6.0h

Sound like you purchased someone else’s problem (a 2005 with 52,000 miles…used as a hotshot). I have owned all three (GMC, Ford, Dodge), and they all have problems. I often laugh when people bitch about owning a Ford…try owning a GMC or Dodge when you are having problems.

    Oil for 6.0

And perhaps, that is the underlining problem...unqualified, under educated and ill-advised dealers which give the 6.0L the poor reputation.

    Puking Coolant

Just keep the documentation, and stay on top of FMC. Goodluck

    Puking Coolant

The repair procedure is exceedingly invasive. I would suggest having a conversation with your service advisor, and completely document the condition of your truck before work is done. Ford really shoe-horned the 6.0L into the engine compartment, and it is really easy to damage the electrical.

    OBDII Theory & Operation

Read this :http://www.motorcraftservice.com./vdirs/retail/default.asp?pageid=diag_theory_retail&gutsid=diagsheet&menuIndex1=27 and you will know more than most Ford technicians.

I am a Ford guy. I have always purchased Fords. However, I call it like it is....FMC's 6.0L has problems, and FMC sometimes needs to join a 12 step program. In Fact, my 2005 buyback was a huge POS. Hands Down! With that said...my post should not be deleted or labeled troll. If this...

    The First ball has dropped

Under statement of the century! Read between the lines: [we continue to outsell all other competitors], EVEN WITH a problematic product, poor customer service, poorly trained, under-equipped, and underpaid technicians, enough FMC red tape to circle the world, and an average price tag of...

    Puking Coolant

In my experience it is the head gasket. Why? Try this link My 2005 buyback had this problem (along with numerous others). First, I would suggest lowering the coolant level to the minimum mark when completely cool. I noticed when towing an enormous load up a 7% grade, the expelled...
