When my trans temp hit 220 degrees my f350 gave off audible / visual alerts. I was on a 8% grade, in tow status, in the slow lane 40mph @ 2000 rpm. Couldn’t do anything else besides stopping. That was a little over a year ago. Just RV toured upstate NY, VT, NH and ME with no alarms. Just saying...
Yeah, I addressed the trans temps in my first sentence. Just added more to the conversation. Both trans / diff cover increases capacity 4-6 quarts and are not flat maximizing cooling via fins

I cannot prove the diff cover along with the added 3-4 qt capacity had any effect on my trans temp when hauling 14k lbs. my common sense tells me the higher cooling capacity and lubricants equals lower temperatures and longevity of parts. I added Archoil additive to my trans. I may be wrong...
Had the same problem with my 2017 F-350 towing my 5ver. Check out BD Performance Transmission Cover, increases capacity, use Amsoil trans fluid along with friction modifier: problem solved. Also upgraded my diff cover for more capacity. I’ve seen the difference.

Try leaving your truck running throughout hitching and unhitching, it allows the truck to recognize the trailer is/is not there.

I’ve found that leaving the truck running while hitching AND unhitching allows the truck to “recognize” that the trailer is gone. Works for me.

Hello, I'm new to the group. I've got a 2017 F350 6.7L with 5000 miles and this is the second time the check engine light came on. The Ford service checked it and could not find anything wrong. The code was a P0402 excess fuel through the EGR. My Ford sync says it detected a misfire. Ford techs...
