Just finished a 900 mile trip from MD back to FL, and had an A/C issue. At low RPMs (1250ish) and speed (45-50ish) the A/C seems to turn off. If I get into the throttle and kick the RPMs up the A/C kicks back on. There was no issue at all with the cruse on doing 70ish and 2000RMS - system...
Thanks all for the suggestions. I changed the oil, went to 10w30, and ran a can of sea foam through it as well. It was 29 this morning and the 250 started right up. Suppose to be 20 tonight, so we will see how it does in the morning.
Been working in MD and have had a few issues. Few months ago had the fuel bowl heater short out and now with it in the 30's in the morning the 7.3 is real hard to start. Normally taking 4 to 5 cycles of the GPR before it will turn over. And, once it does getting white/gray smoke.
I took...
****UPDATE****
Replaced the 20 amp MAXI fuse for the PCM and unplugged the bowl heater yesterday.
Got a jumpstart from a 350 this morning and it started up and ran fine. I think all the trouble shooting yesterday drained down the batteries enough that once I fixed the issue they didn't have...
Thanks everyone, I did find a blown maxi fuse under the hood. But even after i replaced it the truck wont start.
Starting to think its going to be a trip to the shop/dealer.
Well, just replaced the CPS, it still won't start, and the WTS light is still not lighting up.
So so far I have:
1) Replaced the CPS
2) Disconnected the fuel bowl heater (at least I'm pretty sure I did)
3) Checked all the fuses under the dash
Disconnected the heater (I think, see reply above), re-checked the fuse (it's still good), and the TACH does not move. Thoughts?
BTW, Thanks everyone!!!!!
The 30 Amp (and all other) fuse is good. Is the connection for the fuel filter heating element on the back side of the housing? A two wire white body connector, if so that didn't work.
Well I'm up in MD and after the little storm that blew through yesterday my '01 7.3 L 250 wont start. It turns over, but will not start. I replaced both batteries a few months ago and the GPS. But, this seems like a classic GPS issue. The one side note here is the "wait to start" idiot light...
Thanks guys. I was driving into work today when I realize what had happened and what I had asked. So much for there being no stupid questions. :sorry
But thanks to everyone who wanted to flame me and didn't.
Ok, so i finally broke down and got a set of Warn hub for my '01. So I....
1) Pulled out the stock lockouts
2) Installed the hub assembly and lock ring (i.e. slid the old one out and new one in)
3) Screwed on the outer cap with o-ring
4) Did the other side
5) Locked both hub and jacked...
I need to replace the hubs on my '01 as well. I have been thinking of swapping in a set of Warn hubs instead. How much more effort is it to do the Warn swap than just replacing with Ford parts?
