Over on another (un-named) site, the majority of members seem to let oil pressure come up, then take it easy until the temp needle moves. Then you're ready for speed.
The diesel engine doesn't warm up "well" while idling. Put a load on it and it'll come up to temp much faster.

Number 2 is driver's side, front.
Even numbers on the driver's side from front - 2, 4, 6, 8.
Odds on passenger side (from front) - 1, 3, 5, 7
From what I've read...
the cylinders are numbered:
Driver's side are even numbered, starting form the front: 2, 4, 6, 8.
Passenger side is odd: 1, 3, 5, 7
