If you are really worried about it, buy a replacement dpf pipe from ford. Store this one for when you need to pass smog or get warrenty work done. Then take your original one and gut it.
The SCT being referred to is a Flash Programmer. It is a re-calibration tool that re-writes the computer of the truck. It can reprogram for tons of different goals. Towing power or a better shift schedule as desired here, max power for racing or having fun, and or fuel economy.

That would be the lovely regeneration. Deleting the DPF will get rid of it. Remember during regen, raw fuel is being dumped into the exhaust, meaning bye bye fuel economy. This is where a bulk of the mpg gains after dpf deletes come from.

With the amount of complaints the 6.4 received I'm surprised there aren't tons of 6.4 owners ready to ditch it and get the 6.7.
It looks like the 6.7 is going to be the chit.
The only downfall would be those funky looking duelly fender wells and the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). We'll see...
