Above the fog lights towards the passenger side tow hook. I found mine in the dark on a freezing cold night in Va last year. I've heard the cord could be in one of several locations most of which are described earlier in the thread but thats where I found mine . I use it all the time when...
I don't know for sure buuut
Try looking at the 6.0 bible , maybe it will show a drain. I would guess they have to be there. Otherwise get the quadriple stack dull Edge coupled with a Banks 12 gun super tuner and a 300 degree thermostat !!! Just kiddin !:roflmao My way of saying " I agree".
2005 Excursion
2005 Eddie Bauer 6.0 15 mpg around town , 19-20 @ 65 - 70mph routinely running between Miami and Orlando. I just ran from Miami to Northern Virginia last night I got 17.6 mpg at 80 - 85 mph hand calculated.
OOOO YEAH !!
That frame rail mounted filter is nothing short of ......STUPID ! The engineer should be flogged or made to change them all for us for free!:roflmao . I got my diesel bath yesterday  . The external trans filter was surprisingly easy to change , no muss no fuss, 2...
Thanks for the assist,
Unfortunately according to Stant's website thats a 192 Thermostat. If anyone has an "in" with IH that may be where the solution is found. Likely a 180 for a similar design different application will fit. I believe our thermostats are made by caltherm. Again ...
What I'd really like ..
is for someone to give me the part number for a 180 thermostat so I can finally shut up about it . -popcorn . And to answer your questions my Cummins ran 180 rock soilid all the time , hell or high water. :sweet
well.....
Again, I hear what you are saying . Respectfully I say, it is not true. Its particularly not true as a broad brush statement. I have to ask , where did you find a cooler thermostat for the 6.0 to test this? Or, are you simply taking someone's word for it? And where did they...
Your on to something Maxtor
Ford obviously recognized a/the problem as the deleted the underhood pad and front hood lip seal on my 2005 Excursion. Anything you can do to lower overall underhood temps will prolong the life of the tons of plastic components , generate more power through less...
Does anyone have the Fleetguard part numbers for a 2005 6.0 , with a torqshift?
Oil filter:
External trans filter:
Fuel filter (engine mount):
Fuel filter ( lower ):
I'm slowly creating a spreadsheet of common parts, manufacturers and part numbers that I'll share with everyone...
Hmmmm don't know that I'd broad brush all 6.0's like that. I have a brand new 2005 6.0 Excursion, Eddie Bauer, 4x4 that I would not consider broken in yet and it recently delivered 17.7 mpg @ 80 mph on the return leg from Northern Va to Miami. I got 15.4 on the way up. I still only have 4k...
Advance Auto parts , Prestone 775170 or 777170 , if they don't stock it then they can order it and get it in a day. Seems Ford is not all that concerned about combustion temps as they cool the EGR prior to circulating back in the combustion chamber in order to "cool the combustion process"...
Please dont get me wrong ....
I'm not bashing my Excursion and its not my intent to put anyone on the defensive and yes , Dodge does not have any vehicle that compares or shall we say compared. But the Dodge heated seats are better IMHO. I certainly hope we are not suggesting purchasing and...
