The other day my left front hub axle bearing went out at a little less than 70,000 miles, I know, not very many miles for an 02 model. I followed the instructions on the Guzzles web page for needle bearing service, Welcome to guzzle's 4x4 Needle Bearing Maintenance Web Page, it was very helpful...
My 2 Cents Updated
Since I was currently running on the factory original I took the truck to the dealer for the CPS recall I was notified about in March. While I was there I decided to buy a spare to carry with me, I figured it was worth the expense rather than pay for a tow truck in the event...
My 2 Cents
I installed the blue CPS, part number 1825899C93, in March 06 at around 30K, it failed yesterday at 47K. I had to put the factory CPS back in to get home. While old blue was in use I noticed no appreciable difference in mileage or performance.
Make up your own mind.:dunno

I read the review written by your D-max buddy and was grinning the whole time.:sweet
I too have a 2002 psd and noticed a couple of things in the pictures. First, what is the cover/heat shield on the right side of the engine that apears to span from the battery to the firewall. Mine does not...
Considering a change also. The last time I changed diff libe on an LSD/traction lock, I had to add friction modifier I purchased from F@rd (PN# C8AZ-19B546-A) is that needed for my '02 traction lock dif when switching to synthetic?
:thanks
