Question I hate being the noob w/another exhaust " ?"

If you take the factory exhaust off the sensors just unplug, the sensors stay in the factory pipes, just be careful not to damage them. You dont need the sensors in aftermarket pipes, you are tuneing it also arn't you.If you take the DPF and Cat off and just put the sensors in the aftermarket...

    Curious

Have been Spartan tuned for a little over a year, took it back to stock for about 6 weeks, took it in for it's last extenden 60k warrenty. If the ECU rembers everything how come Ford didn't say anything to me???

    Smoke after delete?

yes, no more regen no more of the DPf burn off, no more white smoke. Depending on the tune you can start dumping out some black smoke !!!

    Which gauges to pick

Could be overkill, most tuners have the gauges in them

2 dtc codes won't go away

Before i would put more money in the truck, now i don't know everything or have read everything, but, it could be the tuner itself, maybe something in the software, did you buy it new from H & S ??? Did you buy it used and get somebodys problems ?? My thought is there are alot of tuned trucks...

2 dtc codes won't go away

You can see what i got for a set up, even had the charge pipe rebuilt, mine is getting more air than stock,a lot more air, AFe intake and 4" straight back exhaust, had it on since march of this year and have had no issues or codes being thrown. Not sure what yours is up to or why.....

    2008 Superchip

so according to ford it is normal for this engine to make its own oil?

If the tuner has shut off the regen cycle then eventually you will plug things up. Not sure about your tuner but my Spartan has different tunes that will run with the regen cycle not hurting the cat/dpf. If you just run the tuner and a dpf delete pipe then same thing, eventually you will plug...

Thats why i tuned my truck also, the horsepower increase is nice and the couple extra mpg are a added bonus but everything i read about the regen process scared me. Just can't see how it is good for the life of the truck.

so according to ford it is normal for this engine to make its own oil?

Sorry,if it is driven like that I don;t have a answer, there were times mine went into regen once a week and then it would seem that the next time would be a couple weeks or so,there were times I ran a lot of short trips, but almost everytime it is driven does seem a bit much. Good Luck....

so according to ford it is normal for this engine to make its own oil?

A lot depends how you drive it, if you don't drive it very far it will keep going into regen till it finally finishes,so basically everytime you drive it. A couple times when i drove for short trips the wording changed and told me to drive till finished. At that point it would take no less than...

    dpf removal & exhaust

Doesn't matter now, took it all off, hard to plug up setting by itself in the garage, sure like the truck better now that its off the truck

so according to ford it is normal for this engine to make its own oil?

The extra oil, EPA says you are just fine, wish I could find the article again, they say the average diesel motor is good for about 125,000 miles and with all the regen crap these motors should last all the way up to 250,000 miles, see extra oil is good, you just doubled your engin life, gota...

    PCM Reflash Issues?

Thanks for the info, bone stock the 6.4 can only run a 6 % blend so for most of my driving bio was not a option, I have a friend that has a duramax and was buying at a station that was selling a 18 % blend, he always bought his fuel there, it ended up costing him a bunch to get his truck fixed...

Article Elephants Helping With Joplin Cleanup

Most people have no clue where there food comes from now a days, most think it all comes from the USA, it doesn't, we are really global. I would like the cry babies that think the elephants were exploited to fend for them selves, wonder how quick the elephant would end up on the BBQ......
