on the 06 f250 i had, i had to jack up the front of the truck.. it was tight, but it went right in. btw. i did this with no help, in the yard at night and with drop lights! once the rest of the banks monster exhaust was on, it was welll worth it. left the cat out also. just be carefull not to...
my 02 7.3 gets rotella 15w40 and mc filters, change between 3&5,000 miles..165,000 miles and weighs 18,125lbs..since brand new! my 09 get the mc oil and filter, i have the service plan so the dealer does it.
i put 285/70r17 load range d's on my 06 f250 and it wondered until i worn them down.. which didn't take too long at all, i learned a lesson the expensive way. put e's on and you will see a big diff.
took my truck in today for the intercooler and program.. going on a trip to the outter banks tonight, same trip i did about a month ago, but a little lighter this time. i will post when i get back. the tsb # is 08-25-1.
found a tsb to replace the charge air cooler. it seems during rain or high humidity conditions water is getting into the cooler. i understand the new cooler has larger fins and may even be larger itself. also there is a new program out also. taking the truck in for both!
make sure the system is not low on freon. If the problem is still there you will need to replace the compressor. as always when you replace the compressor you need to replace the orfice tube and the drier also. i pulled the shim out of mine and got another 15k miles out of it. i figure 160k...
got a leer 122 camper shell today and vent visors and husky liners to be in tomorrow. getting ready for a trip over to the outter banks/ cape lookout.4 days of nothing but sand and fishing. :sweet
when you stomp it and let off of it, that sounds like the wastegate dumping boost. if so this is normal, this is prob. what you are hearing.. as far as the engine cooling fan, you will know when it engauges.. sounds like a mack truck! kinda hard to miss it. hope this will help you out ;tu
noticed 3" downpipe in your sig. maybe a larger exhaust sys. will help with the egts and the the heat the chip makes. i have a 02 7.3 f-550 that weighs 18k with 160k miles and knock on wood, no turbo issues.. and believe me, she catches hell.. everyday. but my truck is also stock too.
not saying a whole lot, but only 4k on truck and it has never been removed, hopefully the factory didn't put it in upside down like the headlights!!:lmao
but i will check it out!
