I have been toying an idea around for a few months
I wanted my drivers side grab handle back, but want to oloose my two gauges. I dislike the over the mirror mounts and the below dash stuff is ... just plain out of sight while driving
So i thought lets try a less approach at mounting two right on top of the IP
I still have to make a small hole to hide the wires. but if it turns out i can live with the gauges in their new location, it wont be a hard task.
Right now i have the wires half arse hidden with black tape, but will shrink em down and hide em if its a go
and if I HATE em its nothing to remove em and leave a tiny hole left over maybe to relocate my alarm flashing led

They make guage mounts for dune Buggies that would be a clean dash mount addition. At least a little cleaner, I like the idea.

Different [POWER]strokes...for different folks. Yeah, my truck is 11 years old not like Robert's Tow Boss, but I drilled into my dash. I agree that gauges under the dash are a hazzard to look at while driving. A year later I'm still glad the triple pod is on the dash. I'm just sorry I ordered a double pillar pod because I think I need a 6th gauge.

i might use a stanction and raise em about 1/2 ....moma cant see em to good :tounge

richard i had that very set up on my 92 250, i wish someoen would make a nice set up for the sd dash.

just my two cents but...its the internet AND a forum so i get to
spew my opinion....I personally like a CLEAN "factory" original look...
ive had several friends get in the truck and think my PAINTED <to match>
A-pillar gauges were "STOCK"...one guys dad even OWNS an SD/Gaser.

the gauges on the dash (w/ brackets showing) and wire loom DONT
look very "clean" to me...and theyre far from factory fit & finish imo
