Fuel pump -OR- clogged tank pickup?

I dont remember the breakdown. I had the selector valve replaced, fuel pump, both tanks dropped and cleaned all for 1200. I think the tank deal was around 3-400 maybe but dont have the receipt anymore. It could be in my glove box, I'll check tomorrow.

I hope it is cheap though. Let us know what they find.

One thing's for certain. They better not find any rags in the tank. :D
I think it's thick goopy coagulated veggie oil from when I switch tanks from running veggie oil but I too am curious. After the switch over a small amount of VO gets returned to the rear tank. Over the last year it may have accumulated -OR- I bought some really bad fuel. They will be saving the 3/4 of a tank of fuel for me. I'll re-filter it to 1 micron and separate the goo then depending what I see I'll probably blend it in my rear tank a gallon at a time. If there is alot of VO then it gets poured into my front tank. They will be replacing the stock fuel and return lines from the rear tank to the steel fuel lines with the same hose that I used for my conversion. Then it will be very easy for me to install my rear tank Racor aqua block filter.

I'm back on the road again although I still don't know where the problem was. The tank was dropped and is now spotless but there was no layer of veggie oil. :dunno The bad fuel was saved although it did look funky. It was approximately B40/D50/V10 and an opaque dark yellow. I will refilter it to 1 micron and reblend it into the rear tank a bit per tankful. So it's B20 from now on.

Peter...NO RAGS IN MY TANK!!! :D

Glad to see that you're up and running again, but I know you're gonna miss the little rental. :eek: No goop in the rear tank is a good thing, I didn't think there would be much if any, once they blend I've never had them seperate. I've ran so much junk thru my tanks I'm afraid they need to be dropped and cleaned though. The rear gauge started working again sometimes so I now have it full of B99 and maybe that will clean it up enough so I dont have to drop it. I especially dont want to have to drop the front because of all the other stuff that's in the way.
Hey it's finally cooled down a bit here. Only gonna be 102 today and no triple digits are expected for the next week or so.
Next time I see ya remind me and I'll give you a few more of the gaskets for the fuel bowl.

The fuel starvation problem recurred today and the truck is down again at my house. :rant I spoke to Rick (action4478) and Rodney (BlueMule) for ideas. Tomorrow the FPR will be removed, disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled. I'm losing confidence in the dependability of my fuel delivery system. Given fuel, my truck runs like a bat out of hades. The problem still could be a faulty fuel pump, but it ran great on Saturday night, Sunday & Monday. Today it started up fine but had limited power. I drove maybe 5 miles then started to shake and died when I got home. :rant (I like this smiley) :rant :rant :rant It suits my mood exactly! :rant :rant :rant

I the five years that I've owned her she has always been dependable and never left me stranded. Since my fuel pump went out last month I've been towed so many times that the tow company recognizes my last name. That's not good!

Another thought. If my fuel return line(s) is/are clogged the fuel pump won't (can't) work right? There is suction when I remove the fuel bowl lid and it's only 1/5 filled.
