Hello new to the forum. Just bought an 08 f350 crew cab short box. I bought it in the US and save 35% over the sticker price. Just wondering if any knows about the mileage on these trucks. My odometer reads different than my gauges. I also noticed that I have to fill it up at the pump very slowly. Diesel foams up too much. I can get another 30 litres into the tank. Any suggestions?

Mine is the same way, just have to let it fill up slowly and then top off. That is what I do. I can get about 5-6 gallons more when the pump stops the first time.

Hello and welcome to SDD.com. Why do you have to fill up slowly? But yes you are right it will foam up alot. I do believe there is a mod on here for the 08's that will help to top off the tank quicker. Post some pics of the new ride.

welcome !

you need to "harpoon mod" the fuel tank...the vent tube sticks
down too low (into the fuel) and prevents venting of the air during
fill ups.

heres the how too...
Harpoon mod (In Tank Mod)

I have never had a problem with foam using the speed pump. Could some trucks have no problem with this?

Only if your tank already has been harpooned. Otherwise you probably aren't getting it all the way full ;)

I've been complaining to my dealer about the mileage of my F450 6.4...10.2 mpg. My dealer service rep tells me that Ford Corporate has been receiving complaints from various dealers around the country of their customers complaining of the mileage the new 6.4's a getting. Ford is aware of the problem and claims the problem lies in the torque converter and when the PCM is telling it to lock up.

Service rep states that, when the Ford engineer boys fiqure it out, it will most likely be a simple re-flash to the PCM.
