The 06 has the new system. I don't seem to be able to get enough juice to the trailer brakes. With my 03 + aftermarket controller I could lock the wheels at any speed. The new system can't lock them on snow some days. Hooked to a friends truck and an aftermarket controller they work fine so it's not a trailer issue.

Anyone know if the Factory system can be adjusted or reprogramed to correct this???

Out of warranty now, 60K. When you (both) say grounding issue. Do you mean at the controls under the hood or trailer connection?

trailer wire end.
make sure it has a good ground from the plug on the trailer to the trailer frame, not the ball or hitch pin
it also might help to pull the ibc fuse and wait 2 minutes and then reinsert it
ONCE mine freaked out and i lost a/c and ibc
i pulled the fuses to see if they had blown and found the ibc worked as adevrtised after i reseated the fuse.
wouldnt hurt to check all the connections invlved with 60k miles something might have loosened or corroded
