Well, started having issues with my Toshiba notebook, (has been a great machine for 3 years, especially considering what my programs put it through), turned out my ram memory went bad, but it put me out for 2 weeks to fix, and things are still scrambled. So I ordered a new machine. (will use the Toshiba as a backup as using the notebook my brother graciously lets me use, (thanks to him), just cannot handle my programs very well.
I got a Dell Vostro 1700. This thing is sweet. The biggest thing is the 3 gigs of ram, (to run the massive Autocad program), so far runs it great. I do also have to admit, the new 17" screen is a big improvement of the 15.4. (which was still better than any machine I used with my former employer). Have had a few issues with certain programs and the Vista, but so far, have been able to solve most of them. AIA Contract Documents is the last one I am having issues with. Anywhoos, just thought I would share this, in case someone is looking for a new replacement, runs my Acad program faster than my intel 3.0. These Duo Cores are amazing.
