the trucks a 07 f350, 6.0l, auto, crew cab, long bed, dually 4.10 gears. completely stock right now. I'm planning on making a pretty good trip in october and i'm trying to get an estimate of my fuel cost. I'm going to be pulling a 28ft enclosed classic dominator trailer, figureing around 7700lbs trailer weight. trip is estimated 2250 miles, from south jersey to bradenton florida, then to orlando florida, back to south jersey. I'm figuring diesel will be around $5.00 a gallon by that time, figuring with 10mpg its looking like around $1120 worth of fuel. If it were to get say 15mpg that would bring cost down to around $750. I'm guessing 65-70mph would be average. wondering if there are any upgrades to do that could help bring up the MPG? I'm planning on getting a 4" turbo back and sct tuner, but will it be worth it? i can't wait for the 55 gallons of racing Q16 i have to spend around $645 on! Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe Robert will chime in. He has basically the same setup as you do, and he is getting great mileage.

I have an '05 F250 Super Duty Crew LWB FX4 with 3:73 gears. I have an AFE cold air intake and 4" JEGS turbo Back exhaust. Also Have a superchip programer but don't use it when towing. I tow a 35' pull behind trailer, loaded weight around 10K pounds. I average between 14 and 15 MPG with my set up. I think the added airflow really helps. 3400 mile trip last Thanksgiving from Missouri to Georgia to North Carolina and back to Missouri cost me about 850.00 in fuel.

i was just reading all about the zoodad mod, i'd rather do that then buying a cold air intake. I was told the factory style air filter flows a good amount of air, just need to get it rammed in there. So i guess i need to get that exhaust and sct programmer. thanks!

Your truck is turbo charged, so ram air is almost useless. Free flowing exhaust will help.

so your only mod is the mbrp exhaust, and your towing 3 times what i am getting 12-13 mpg with 4.30's. so i'd imagine i could expect somewhere around 14mpg with the mbrp exhaust, pulling 8k, and cruising at 70mph down I-95>?

i remember i drove my buddies 99 f350 dually with a 7.3l with he rest being the same and we were cruising at 80mph+, but that was 3 years ago....fuel cost was nothing compared to now!
