well i still havent recieved the kit from spartan, last thing i heard from them was a phone call about 3 weeks ago saying the kits would be ready to ship in 3 to 5 days.... but yet still nothing, called a few times left message, emailed, and nothing. SO if i dont heard something from them by the end of this week im going to look else were!!

As for the 25mpg gain, i agree with bush, but i might get close if the truck is already getting better fuel mileage to start out, but dont think it would for someone thats getting 10 to 12 mpg.

Plus thats what came out of Matts mouth to me on the phone, but that was well over a month ago.

Did you ever hear or get anything from them?

I have no doubt that the 6.4 COULD get 25 MPGs...IF it was tuned right, the tranny firmed up, and the DPF removed.

I now have nearly 13K miles on mine and it is still getting slightly better mileage as it ages. I'm up to 14.5 now.

I agree. My '01 7.3 would get 20 - 21 even with an 8" lift and 38" tires!!
The difference is all the emission crap, and the horrible slip in the tranny.
Some politician somewhere has his chest out saying "we will have better air now that we made the the diesel motor stop smoking!!" He doesn't say that it cost 50% fuel mileage.

I have found that if you stop feeding them, they will eventually go away. :tounge
Just kidding!! :lmao

I personally don't need 200+ extra horses, but I would like to have a package that gives me 50 or 60, DPF delete, and increase the pressure in the tranny to get rid of some of the slop.

I bet with that combo, I could get at least 20 MPG if not more.

I think SCT has a DPF delete tune with that. Its the tranny tune, give about 80hp, firms up the tranny, locks up the torque converter sooner.

DPF kits are they worth it?

I have heard and read of many people talking about ways to improve mileage but I have yet to hear from those who officially installed these units on their trucks. I am looking for real evidence and not estimations.:dunno

Hi I am new here. I am un clear on what you are saying and what vehicle you have, but I agree with what I am reading. Are you the one that wrote about the tranny slipping and addressing that might improve milage?
