I changed mine out today and observed what looked like glue coming out of the bottom of the Motorcraft fuel filter. This one I think only had maybe 6k miles on it. I have recently been running B-90 in her. Only because that is the only bio I can get ahold of now.
So some of you guys that have been running bio tell me an at least somewhat bio-friendly filter. Thanks

Typical. Bio scours the inside of your tank and lines, so I'd plan on changing it at least twice more.

No it's not typical. More than likely you have poorly reacted biodiesel or poor quality. Does the producer lab test their fuel? If not....RUNNN!

My stock filter has never had a problem, I use nothing but Racor(OE) replacements since they stand behind there products with ASTM B100. I ran a Dahl with b100 shortly and the heater and glues were crap! Racor saved the day with the 900FH Turbine series with a heater and water sensor!

Well I'll find out about the lab tests.
The company (Eagle Bio-Diesel) sells quite a bit of fuel. Big rigs fill up there as well. I will have to ask about the tests. Maybe I am just being too picky. What I said was glue might be something else. There was something around the bottom of the pleats where the pleats and the bottom portion meet.:dunno

well, Antonio knows a lot more about it than I do.. so does Earl.

Although I'm perplexed that one filter performs OK, but the other does not...

Bio-Diesel

You have Glycerine which is a the wax portion that is a byproduct of the manufacturing process of Bio-Diesel.

I would hazard a guess that you are seeing the results of the "solvent effect" of biodiesel and it cleaning the rest of your fuel system prior to the filter. Change it out and keep running, keep an eye on the one in there now and see if it continues, I doubt it will.

How cool has it been up there in Monteagle, would it be cold enough that you would be getting some gelling of the biodiesel?
