I'm ready to do a selectable chip and I'm torn between TS or a Twildman, pros and cons gentleman, I tow a pretty heavy toyhauler and need some more HP, check out my sig and let me know which settings to get.. dont need all six, just a few select ones...... Let me know what kind of experience you have had....

I have a TS and I like, but with the trans mods and the TS program it feels like someone is smacking you in the back when it shifts. But it is nice to chirp all 4 rear tires when it hits second gear. From what most people say DP is a better tune than most.

I have a TS six position for mine and love it. It shifts beautifully and plenty of power. I have stock, high idle,50,75,100,and,140HP settings. I think the 50hp setting is said to be the tow mode. Trust me the 140hp setting, you'd better hang on. I have heard that DP is the best chip, but I was on a budget and the TS fit it a little better. I can't imaging there's that much of a difference though. I know you said you don't need all the settings, but why not have them? I think you'll be happy with either one. Good luck.

I've run Bill's programming via the Edge Evolution, then a TS, then DI, then DP and NOW I run Tony's.

Evo was generic, great power but smoked like a freight train in the 100hp. Good entry level programmer.

TS made a little more power than the Evo but rattled something fierce from excessive timing, that was 2004 though. Egt's came up quick and smoke was thick.

DI went "smokeless" programs and I bought a chip from David. I had issues with it. The programs were okay but not what I was looking for and can't drive to Houston for live tuning.

DP was used when I went to dual HPOPs. Idle was poor, smoke was on par with TS. EGTs were manageable. Again...couldn't drive to Asheville for live tuning.

Then I MET this guy named Tony. I liked his attitude toward tuning and bought a chip at the '07 NTXPsA rally. Idle is smooth, throttle response is what I want. EGTs are better than with DP. I can gross 21k lbs towing in tow program at 65mph with egt's at 700-850 on flat ground in 6th gear. I'm not going to fly by anyone but I can accelerate to 75mph effortlessly and still stay under 900 degrees. Total Diesel Performance will handle all my tuning now. All trucks are different and HP ratings on chips are BS in my opinion, I have "stockish", tow, daily driver and extreme.

Very good write up for comparison. I always want to ask what happens or feels when you turn the switch on the fly to one of the tunes for instance if you go in the tow mode and change to a extreme?

its really not good to switch it when you've got your foot in it. its better to let off the accelerator pedal and then switch it. i believe it can just put a surge of power through everything that it is not expecting
