Recently took delivery of a 2008 F450, taking advantage of zero financing and incentives - traded my 2006 F350 6.0L.

Thoroughly impressed with the power and refinement of the new truck, and the turning radius is beyond belief for a large vehicle.

With only 1,000 miles on the clock, I'm not expecting much in the area of fuel economy. My 2006 didn't begin to deliver good MPG until 15,000 miles.

A few upgrades planned, and just looking for some tried-n-true experiences (as it relates to fuel economy) with the following on a 6.4L:

1. K&N Intake
2. DPF back exhaust back (Magflow or MBRP). Also a nice sound would be great !
3. Superchip Tuner, or SCT.

As always - a great site for learning about diesels - now beginning on the 6.4L.:sweet

Thankks

Sounds like an awsome truck, gets some pics for us.

Now if your going to go and void the warrenty with those mods, you might as well go all out and get a Spartan Dashdaque with dpf delete. That will be your biggest area for fuel economy gains. With the spartan people are reporting gains 1-2mpg better than that SCT dpf delete.
