I am having problems with my 05 6.0 Diesel trying to get it to start. It turns over fine, it will crank but will only have a real low idle for a second or two then slowly die. Usually after repeating this 5 or 6 times, it will crank. After that, it runs just fine. Absolutely no problems going down the road. Just when I try to crank it. My local Ford Dealership has it right now and they say that nothing is wrong with it or they are blaming it on the Quadzilla module. Can someone help me out?

What is the condition of your batteries? If older than 3 years it might be time to replace.

Also, check the ground straps, maybe they are loose.

I believe there was a TSB for wirings that chafed and may cause shorts.

It sounds like you are losing fuel pressure to the engine. Maybe a pinhole leak in the line that closes under pressure, but opens up when there is no pressure? There is anti syphon on these engines that I know of, so the fuel can be draining back to the tank.

But then again, I am probably wrong anyways.

Sounds like the HPOP connector is leaking, there is a TSB on this with a new one piece connector, and should correct the issue, I had it done to my truck last year, solved the no start/ hard start problem immediatley.

duh, now that you mention it, I had that same problem. I will now take myself out to the wood shed and hit myself over the head.

Fixed itself?

The Ford house checked it out and could not find anything wrong with it. When I dropped it off, I turned the programmer off. They said that it cranked just fine everytime. Did just fine this morning too. The Quadzilla Module has always worked just fine, I dont see why it would just start messing up now or how it would cause it to do that.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it!
