2008 f350 lariat with 90,000kms. Driving home in +32 degree CELSIUS weather (HOT) and the A/C quit working. Checked all the fuses and relay under the hood and they're all good. Is it possible that I need a refrigerant recharge already?? Just wondering if anyone has had any similar issues with their AC. Any chance this will be covered by warranty??

Thanks,
Rugatika

I doubt it, unless the condensor took a shot from an rock, errant moose or other antlered nuisance.

Anyway, when they quit working suddenly, that's a failed/damaged part.

A few things you can check before you run it to a shop (an you can take it to any shop; mobile a/c is a mobile a/c) :
turn the key to the run position (Key On Engine Off), look at the a/c clutch.
If it hasn't sucked the drive plate against the hub, tap it with a screwdriver.
If it doesn't engage, place the blade of the screwdriver agains the hub and see if the coil is energized.

But in the meantime, in the short length of time these trucks have been for sale, I think I'd be calling the dealer. Good chance if it IS a failed part, it's still under warranty.

obvious

Always look for the obvious first. belt was thrown off as well as the tensioner pulley. Main belt looks like it has to come off first to get the AC belt on. Doesn't look like the easy job it was on my chev. Hopefully I can get it on tonight.

Oh yeah. They said AC not covered under warranty at 90000km.

Mine quit working sometime during the winter. The first time I turned it on this summer I only got hot air. I took it in to get the seat back recall done and they checked the a/c. Tech said there was a bad o-ring somewhere. They replaced it and recharged the air and everything is working perfectly now.

Some of the 08s have a TSB for a A/C control module replacement. Helped greatly with mine, now you need to turn the A/C down after 15 minutes
