About 10 yeard ago there started a vintage sports car race in Coronado CA at the Naval Station at North Island. I was stationed there while on several ships and worked there as a civilian manager after I retired, Since we race a 1973 Porsche in various vintage events I have been trying to get entered but to no avail. It appears the organizers want "famous" cars such as historic Mustangs, Camaros and Ferraris so we could never get in. This year though it seems that Chrysler backed out as the main sponsor so more entries were needed (more $$$$$) and I got accepted finally! It is a great spectator event with 40,000 or more people attending so it will be a chance of a lifetime I think.
