I see GM's Allison is going to be a 6 speed for 06.5 model year. I think its a good idea and they should definitely see an increase in fuel mileage.

Does anyone know if the torqshift has the capability build into it?

In the Allison apparently they just need to add a solenoid and change some programming.

It's too bad Ford can't get their act together with their flashes. My uncle has an old flash, he has some problems with it but he won't part with it since he averages close to 23mpg. No BS.

I recall a lengthy flaming discussion on another board arguing that the Torqshift IS a 6-speed. Maybe it's already there, man!

Really? That is pretty cool. So It uses one different gear going up then it does going down? What gear? What ratio? Maybe I misunderstood?

you've been quoted tim... :D

However, If my memory serves...and it usually doesn't... there used to be a Ford engineer logged in over at TDS early in 2003. I can't remember what he logged in as, but it seems to me he confirmed that the TS is a six speed.
He was told by Ford to quit posting...

I remember that guy. I believe his name was Mark Kovalski - he just disappeared one day. Ford put a muzzle on him I suppose.
But the thread I'm talking about is the one where the guy working on the SCMT for the 6.0 was talking about the shift points and gear ratios on the Torqshift. I'll see if I can dig it up in the archives over there.
