Honestly I don't really like raptors, probably more because I have ridden them, and I don't like how they ride, lots of power, but that alone doesn't make a quad, obviously or they wouldn't be coming out with a new yfz, but that is bitchin, pardon the french. the long arms and the treads give that thing a bad@$$ stance.

Same reasons I don't like em. Add to it I only weigh 160 lbs. 6'3", so I can get some leverage on big bikes, but I don't have enough weight to through em around if they aren't weighted right. It is pretty cool that I can sit as far up as I can get and they still have enough power to bring the front up under normal hard accelleration, not even trying to ride wheelies. I love the 450 though.

raptors handle about as good as a lawn mower. good dune quads, lots of power to chug through the sand.

if you really want to have some fun id say go for it on the EX.....if it really cant spool it you may be able to fill weld the exhaust housing to increase the velocity in there. worst case, it doesnt spool, and you have no less power than what you started with! is the quad due for a rebuild? 470 stroker? :D

oiling should be easy, dont the 400ex's have an external supply line to the head? or you can tap a nipple into the filter cover.

what cam are you runnning in that thing? do you have a rev box? rpms will be key with a big turbo, and if you get even 1 psi of boost it will be SICK.

the 660 was fun thats for sure.my buddy that rode it was 6'3" 290 and it would pick the nose up in third with his big ass on it!!!i liked the power but didnt like it.it wasnt smooth.like trying to wheelie it the power was to poppy(i hope you understand what im trying to say) to do it.it was either on the crash bar or i stalled it.

i love my 400ex thoughhandles great.great power, comfortable bike for me.i want more power and will be getting it now that its blown by the thieves.im doing a 426 kit on it,already have a stage 1 hot cam in it.

ya the ex is due for rebuild.it was stolen and the thieves smoked the clutch and rings :rant:rant but im going 426 on it.it did have and will have a rev box again, thieves took that too.right now it has the stage 1 hot cam in it.HMF slip-on,drilled airbox, and uni air filter.it actually has an oil cooler so i could probably tap into that and have the return dump into the head like the cooler does.

know anybody with a good used 426 top end for short money?
