I have been looking at different portable jumper boxes to carry with me for those occasions when I may need to jump my 99 7.3. I ran into a problem last year at a camp ground where my batteries died while at the dump station. Had to wait a while before someone showed up to jump my truck.

I have seen them from 300amps to well over 1000 amps. Anything over 900 amps seems really pricey, but I want to make sure I have the appropriate size.

Thanks :dunno

You will want the 1000 amp at least, better yet I have seen them up to 1500-1800 amp also.1 of your batterys are at least 800 amps and it take 2 to start your truck.

:dunno I have 1500 amp, by Schumacher.. I've used it many times to jump any of the Big 3 Light Truck diesels.. and even a few Big Rigs. Gasser's, no problem.

We have a 900 amp at work and use it to jump just about anything. If your battery is just low and it hasn't sat out for days in sub-zero weather it should work.
