Also, check out ATS Diesel Products for everything from upgrades like billet flexplates, torque converters, and extra deep oil pans, to full on race worthy trannys that cost upwards of $7K. They have something to fit just about every budget. As an extra incentive they back every transmission they build with a 5 year-500,000 mile warranty...nobody else can claim that. As for the difference between the 4R110 and the 5R110, I can only guess that the two are very similar in dimensions and may even share the same case. I believe that the transmission pans are interchangeable on these two trannys. So,if you can find a deal on an old or used 4R100 deep (extra capacity) pan, it should fit the new trucks. Besides that, the new trannys are beefed up in all the typical problem areas that automatics are notorious for burning up. As they have boosted the HP and torque on the Superduty, so have they boosted the strength of the tranny as well. If there are any Ford technicians out there who wish to expound on what I've said, or to correct me if I'm wrong...please do.

I think one is four speed and the other a five speed auto.
