Trans Temps?

Just curious, after we rebuilt my 4R100 i installed a temp gauge to keep an eye out, never had a temp gauge on any of my daily drivers before, what is normal operating temps? it usually goes no higher than 150 daily driving, havent towed yet, what should i expect with towing you think? i'm leaving for florida in may so was wondering what i may see, lol....

The general rule of thumb is; 100 degrees above the outside air temperature is the upper limit for your tranny. You can vary this to suit your needs.

On my 02, with a fresh rebuilt tranny my tranny temps were 125-150*F empty and towing 10,000lbs I rarely ever saw temps over 150*F. On my truck I bypassed the radiator, and ran 2 aftermarket coolers along with the factory cooler.
