I think I've read through most of the REGEN/DPF posts and haven't seen a question/answer on this (course I may just not have been reading closely enough). When does the Exhaust Filter Drive Complete message appear - is it meant to appear everytime after a successful Cleaning Exhaust Filter process? I'm asking as I was driving this evening, the CEF message appeared so I figured what the heck...I like to drive and was close to the highway...was out on the highway for about 20 minutes @ 80km/hr+ and the message eventually disappeared but no Exhaust Filter Drive Complete message ever appeared. Did my cycle complete? I'm wondering if the EFDC message only appears after a Drive to Clean Exhaust Filter occurence. Thanks in advance for responses.

When driving mine just seems to disappear or if it does display the complete message it is on there for such a short time I miss the message also.Even if I missed the message I don`t get another regen for quite awhile-so I assume it completed it`s regen while driving.
-this probably wasn`t much help

you will know when regen is done because the truck sounds different. The engine has a different tone almost if the pilot injection is shut off. In the early days before the several reflashes, once you were in regen it wouldn't stop until it was done. Meaning if you shut the truck off, as soon as it started up, regen again, put the truck in park it high idled to regen, some folks who took short trips would regen for days. Not anymore, its fairly seamless and ford has worked out some of the kinks.

Hello,

I have had my truck a week now. And have had three of the exhaust filter clean cycles. I have not seen a complete message. I have not noticed any performance issues as of now.:)

While driving today my truck went into regen---I kept an eye on the display and when it was finished it did display the EFDC message , but it was only on there for 2-3 secs, so it is pretty easy to miss the message.

mine will say complete, but you got to watch for it. i have had several cleanings and only noticed half of them being displayed complete. so i think we are just missing the message!

Hello,

My regen looks to be happening around 200 miles or so. I have 2700 miiles on mine and it is a pleasure to drive.

fuel quality as well as driving habits will affect how often the truck will regen. I'm around 650-700 miles in between a regen. I only fuel up at high volume stations, your less likely to get bad fuel.
