Help Needed 92 F250 diesel hasn't been started in years...

From experience the best bet is to buy one of the complete kits with the plastic return fittings/ covers, o-rings, lines, and some include little strap ties/ clamps too. The mechanical 7.3's are a diehard motor, man I wish I still had one!

Bought the kit, I had to reuse one of the fittings because the kit came with an end fitting but mine makes a complete loop. Ah well, the good new is that after a couple cranks it fired right up without having to crack each line to bleed them. No more leaks! But then I took it down the road on it's maiden voyage in 4 years and I think the brakes are seized open because I lightly tested them and they kind of stopped, but then I jammed on them and it blew a line. WEEEE! The parking brake doesn't work either, luckily I was on an old dirt road. Now time to take all the wheels off and diagnose some brakes.

I love it when a old truck is saved, i kinda have a soft spot for old crap thats not worth anything, gets me in trouble every time

That truck would have a 7.3L IDI (In-Direct Injection) all mechanical diesel in it. It iw ans entirely different beast than a PSD.... If you are going to keep the truck, I would hightl reccomend you visit our sister site Oilburners.net and post in the 6.9 IH & 7.3 IDI Diesels. The guys ovther there know the IDI's like the back of their hands..... and can help troubleshoot most any problem. Go over there and visit that section, and look at the Tech forum in there also...... lots of good information there...... Also, congrats on brining a piece of old iron back to life..... I plan on owning an IDI sometime in the future.....
